12 ounce bottle from Beer Run. Pours a hazy orange color with a bit of thin fizz. Aroma of sweet apples, earth, honey, vanilla, bourbon. The taste is sweet apples, vanilla, wood, spice, pineapple, citrus, honey, whisky. Medium bodied. Quite interesting.

Jolly rancher apple nose, odd in the candy is made with artificial flavorings and this is organic. The aroma is strong and it fills the room, again odd for a cider. Fairly clear amber, no visible carbonation. Flavor is unfortunately dominated by fusel alcohol. There are some nice white grape, apple, and apple blossom notes to be found, but the chemical flavor ruins it all, what an irony.

Bomber from the Folsom Whole Foods as bare naked single strength reserve. Pours hazy dark gold. Fresh apple smell, but there might be a hint of acetic acid. Medium body. Fairly fresh apple flavor to start, followed by some apple skin bitter. No trace of sour. Crisp. Apple. A pretty good cider.

Bottle shared with family at the cabin, NH. Pours very cloudy (end of bottle) orange-yellow with a small, white head. Big fruity nose, hints of apple and alcohol. Big sweet flavor, faintly tangy with a bit of honey on the back of the tongue. Medium bodied with soft carbonation. Sweet finish with very moderate warmth, sugary apples, subtle yeasty dryness and musk, light notes of sweet maple syrup. Nice stuff overall. (Summer 2012, score: 3.6)
Tried this one again in the summer of 2017, so the cider was about eight years old. Still very good, gave it a 3.6 again. True apples, some sourdough, a little sugar. Medium bodied, soft. Finishes with lightly sticky, ripening apples. (August 2017, score: 3.6)

Can from the Davis Co-Op. Pours orange tinged gold with a few bubbles. Aroma is much more like fresh apples than most ciders. Itβs a little earthy - maybe thatβs the brett. Near med body. Flavor is a little earthy, very apple skin astringent. Quite dry. Overall a pretty tasty cider for pasteurized.

Bottle from Whole Foods Bowery. Stirred up & poured into an Ommegang chalice. Faintly fizzy, dusty yellow body. Smells of red apples & pears upfront. Juicy Fruit gum & aerosol. Warm plastic & mild pie spice trailing. Taste is mildly tart apple wine/juice box upfront, with some bubble gum sweetness. Turns thick halfway in, with chalky banana yeastiness & a generally starchy texture. Prickly carbonation that dies on you when you need it. Dusty texture. Harsh alcohol for only 6%. Ugly, lingering, creamy Play-Doh plastic-y finish. Out of a dozen or so witbier ciders Iβve had, Iβve liked a grand total of one. Though this one had a lot more problems with it then just the yeast.

Bottle. Sweet fresh apple, oak and light whiskey aroma Hazy honey gold with a thin white ring. Sweet-tart apple, oak, subtle whiskey flavor. Light body, lively carbonation. Iβm a sucker for apples and oak, they were made for each other.

Refrigerated 12 oz. brown bottle poured into a white wine glass. Pours clear light amber, very little head, no lacing, no carbonation, and light wood aroma. Taste is oak, some water down soft whiskey, and a hint of apple which peaks out occationally. A little more apple taste would have been nice, not my thing.
