Refrigerated 12 oz. clear bottle poured into a glass. Clear purple with no head. Aroma is nice blackberry, medium body, no carbonation, and no lacing. Taste is nice blackberry and apples.

Single from WFB. Mason jar pour. Clear, pale, golden straw-colored body. Sizzling carbonation. Smell is surprisingly good. Fresh pear & honeydew. Taste is much the same. Low carbonation. Thin. Mild pear, big on leeche, mellow eating apples. Bottle says they also add natural flavors. Hides the usual strained yeasty flavor I get from Crispin, but I feel slighted(because I liked it).

Bottle at BrewMaster’s Craft Beer Festival. Pours a hazy pink with small off white head that diminishes to nothing. The aroma is pear and apple skin. Thin body, light pear, apple, light tartness, decent.

Bomber from the Woodland, CA CostCo. Pours pale gold with bubbles. Aroma of apples, with something suggesting maple. Med minus body, but more body than most ciders. Flavor is apple, maple, touch of smoke, and I think I can find bourbon. For me it seems the maple and smoke is strongest, but the bourbon is there. Not really getting any wood, and it is not quite dry. It is smooth and tasty. Well done!

--- Beer merged from original tick of Bourbon Char on 06 Oct 2016 at 22:55 - Score: 8. Original review text: Great! Sweet/lightly tart apples; maple/oak/bourbon; light vanilla/smoke/char. Semisweet/spicy oak finish. Great balance/complexity. Smooth.

I think I may have an old bottle as the aroma is kind of funky and not in a good way. Apples, yes; unwashed body parts, no. Palate is good tho. Flavor’s somewhat similar to nose, no sign of maple or spices. I wouldn’t want another one of these although I could see, perhaps how someone might - maybe?

Kind of an interesting idea that just doesn’t play out. Appearance is a flat pale yellow. Aroma is fresh apple cider with some sake overtones that sort of work, if you’re into that kind of thing. Personally, I’ve had much better. Ok body. Short finish.

Aroma is ripe apples, and hints of honey and rum. Flavor’s similar to nose, plus a hint of oak. Sweet dominates, could maybe use a bit more carbonation to cut the sweet. I didn’t do the swirling until after I opened it. Appearance is a slightly cloudy amber cider. Decent finish.
