Bottle thanks to bu11zeye. Pours with a fading white head. Aroma of chocolate, grain, and rye. Taste is dry, rye and chocolate. Grainy. Kind of boring. Light bubbles. Well hidden alcohol.

Bottle. Body is a fairly dark brown with some red showing through around the edges... it is fairly thin-looking, in spite of its dark color. There wasn’t much of a hiss when I popped the cap and there isn’t much of a head, especially after a half minute or so. Aromas of dark fruit, a little bit of earth and nuts... pretty mild. Flavor is much fuller... quite a bit of a cola like taste in there, with some jammy dark fruit, a little bit of an earthy presence, some astringent alcohol... not bad, but a bit rough at times. This is pretty thin on the palate, but there is enough sweetness that it covers pretty well.

Bottle thanks to bu11zeye. Pours with a small white head over a slightly hazy yellow body. Aroma of pine, tangerine and grassiness. Taste is tangerine, pine, grass and apricot. Quite fresh and hoppy. Creamy carbonation, low residual sugars and some alcohol.

Bomber. Pours an orangish gold with a little bit of a head and aromas of pine, mango and apple juice. Flavor has a lot of malt (apple and caramel) sweetness up front that then gives way to an herbal/medicinal pine finish. Alcohol is obvious and warming. Merry Christmas!

Location: 22 oz bottle from jcos's trip to Rozi's Wine and Liquor House, 12/5/09

Aroma: The nose has lots of pine citrus, and resiny hops with some toasty caramel
Appearance: A mostly clear orange-copper color with a bubbly white head
Flavor: Taste has a mild sweetness up-front, but is overpowered by the strong bitter finish
Palate: The body is medium with a somewhat dry and sticky mouthfeel
Overall Impression: Overall, this is a very nice example of the APA style. The taste is decent, but the nose is really quite nice, and make the beer in my opinion. I really liked what I was getting even before taking a sip of this one. A nice;y done beer, here.

Sample at JaBier’s refrigerator reduction tasting on 08/15/09. The beer is a clear pale orange color with a thin off-white head that diminishes steadily. Slippery top ring of lacing. Sweet malt aroma with a bit of spiced hops. Medium body with a bready malt character and touches of hops and spice. The finish is malty and yeasty with a sweet aftertaste. Decent overall.

Bomber. Pours a dark reddish brown with some nice red highlights and a thin and ephemeral tan head that has died to a thin film with a few larger bubbles. Aromas are malty and sweet; a nice mix of brown sugar, dates, and a bit of chocolate over roasty malt. Flavor is pretty much in line with this... with the addition of a little bit of old or stale coffee. This is pleasant enough, but fails to have much of a pop to it that helps it find a clear direction.

Fancy waxed bomber from TBK. Pours a very pale amber with a finger or so of foamy head. Aromas are faint, but interesting, with a lot of light fruit and pepper to the nose. Flavor is pretty decent... quite a bit of fruit there: nectarine, pear, and honey deliver some sweet malt with a little bit of pepper to the finish. This is fairly light and airy, but still has a bit of an alcoholic bite to it... nothing out of hand, but you can tell it’s there. Finish is pretty good. Fairly crisp and refreshing.

Bottle. Pours a dark brown as expected, with a little bit of a tan head. Looks a bit thin as it pours. Aromas are kind of odd... a bit of nuts and coffee and such, but there is a strange bit of something like rotting vegetable of some sort that comes and goes. While I was worried that this would show up in the flavor, these fears turned out to be unfounded. There is a heavy coffee presence with a bit of peat and something sweet like cream and nuts. It comes off as a bit thin, but is good, nonetheless.

Bomber from brewpub... Pours an orangish amber with a big head and aromas of... well... ahh... not much going in the nose. A little bit of some sort of sweet and light malt, but that’s about it. Flavor is a mix of honey, pears, bread and grass, with an emphasis on the sweet bread end of things and the rest being \"icing\" on the cake. This isn’t one of TBK’s stronger offerings that I’ve had.
