Description
Wild Polly Brewing Co. and its award-winning beers are a family owned husband and wife team. We were inspired to create Wild Polly Brewing Co whilst travelling around Australia with our two sons in a caravan on a journey of adventure and discovery. For us, beer is about sharing, relaxing and having fun with family and friends.
With a farming background, stretching back six generations, our love of the land and regional produce has led us to our farm (and future Brewery site) near Gundaroo, just out of Canberra. At Wild Polly we want to support other farmers, know where our ingredients come from when making our beer and ensure our customers get the freshest and highest quality product possible. We passionately believe in using the best available and locally produced raw ingredients, that is why we are growing our own hops, which we will use in our beers. All our grain is sourced direct from Aussie farmers which is then malted in the Riverina.
We are delivering a paddock-to-pint approach, creating ancient grain craft beer for everyone. Combined we are the brewer, sales rep, marketing manager, accountant, website master, social media consultant and more wrapped into one. Together, and with the help of our boys, we are always ‘hands on’ and getting things done.
When we aren’t busy working and brewing we run around after two teenage boys and their busy social and sporting lives as well as continuing to set up the brew-farm by planting more trees to create wildlife habitat and establishing our gardens to become increasingly self-sufficient. We nurture our hops orchard and care for our livestock, feeding them with spent grain from our brews.
All Wild Polly beers are made from ancient grains. These grains that are considered “ancient” due to their long use by human society. This includes our secret mix of Australian grown malted sorghum, millet, rice and buckwheat so are naturally gluten free. Wild Polly beers are tested and certified as being gluten free and safe for people with coeliac disease by an independent laboratory.

(Can) Pours clear golden amber with small loose white head. Unusual aroma with a rather medicinal note. Medium body with bright carbonation. Taste like aroma has some unusual and dusty flavours, that to me seem somewhat medicinal. There’s some nice citrus up front and some biscuit malt in the middle. A bit odd for my palate, but unusual and interesting.
