Served on draft at the brewpub. Pours a clear dark ruby color with a thin creamy tan head. Decent head retention and nice lacing. Aroma of caramel, toasted malts, berry and plum-like fruit notes and faint nutty notes. The taste is caramel, apples, a mildly bitter leafy hop note, faint chocolate, cherries and toasted malts. Medium-full bodied.

on tap-pours a retaining light tan head and amber color. Aroma is mild fruit, medium malt. Taste is soft medium malt-some chocolate, 2nd earthy hops.

on tap-pours a rich thin white head with slightly hazed orange color. Aroma is sweet lemon/orange, some medium malt. Taste is sweet lemon/orange/pineapple/resin hop bite, 2nd medium malt. Drying finish. ½ way thru the hops become more biting and zesty.

on nitro-pours a cascading tan head that cascades and black color with red tint. Aroma is rich dark malt-cocoa. Taste is rich dark malt-cocoa/roasty, earthy hops. Drying finish.

Served on draft at the brewpub. Pours a hazy peach color with a medium tan head. Good head retention and lacing. Aroma of earthy, floral, citrus and tropical hop notes with some faint rice notes. The taste is bitter citrus hops with strong rice notes and pale malty notes. Medium bodied. Nicely balanced with a lingering bitterness, and a pleasure to drink. Well done Jason!

Growler from Beer Run in Charlottesville, VA, filled 10/7/10 and opened about 20 minutes later. Not much to look at... pours a murky brown-orange with a thin offwhite frothy head that fades quickly and completely. Aroma of caramel, leafy hops, faint nuts and apple-like fruity notes. The taste is toffee, caramel, bitter hops, citrus and apple. There is a mild but lingering bitterness. Medium bodied. Low carbonation. Pretty nice beer.

Growler filled at the brewery on 9/19 and opened on 9/22/10. Pours a hazy reddish brown color with a large tan head. Decent head retention and lacing. Aroma of leafy green hops, pale nutty malts and a faint bit of chocolate. The taste is bitter leafy, citrus and tropical hop notes with a mildy malty finish and a faint bit of chocolate. Very bitter, medium bodied and quite drinkable. Nice beer.

Cask at the Top of the Hops Beer Festival, Charlottesville, VA, 9/11/10. Pours a hazy lemon yellow color with a medium white head. Good head retention and lacing. Nice malty aroma, slightly bitter leafy hops and a nutty finish. The taste is lightly bitter floral hop notes, pale malts and a caramel hint in the finish. Medium bodied, crisp and clean. Nice beer.

On tap at Capital Ale House - Downtown on 08/18/2010. Clear dark black body with a medium frothy light brown head. Big roast, chocolate and floral/resiny hop aroma. Big roast and bitter flavor with some chocolate and floral notes. Medium body with moderate carbonation.
