Growler from the brewpub. Pours a hazy orange-brown color with a thin head. Fair head retention and poor lacing, Aroma of bread, caramel, candi sugar, yeast, banana. Taste is bread, bitter fruit notes including banana and peach, yeast, candi sugar, caramel. Medium bodied. Good beer.

Draft sample at the brewpub. Pours a hazy golden color with a large frothy head. Good head retention and lacing. Aroma of bread, husky grain, dry peach and grape, nutty notes and a hoppy finish. Taste is caramel, bread, dry fruit notes (grape, banana), nuttiness and a citrus hoppiness throughout. Medium bodied.

Served on draft at the brewpub. Pours a dark brown color with a moderate creamy tan head. Good head retention and lacing. Aroma is nutty with light roasty notes. Taste is chocolate, nuts, apple, vanilla, oak and whisky. Smooth, medium bodied.

Fresh growler from the brewpub. Pours a clear copper color with a very thin creamy head that lingers. Poor lacing, Aroma is fruity, floral hops, rye and caramel. Taste is very malty with lots of caramel along with nuttiness, tea, floral, fruity hops and spicy rye notes. Smooth, low carbonation, medium bodied. Pleasant but fairly boring.

Growler from the brewery. Pours a hazy orange amber color with a large offwhite head. Decent head retention and fair lacing. Aroma of caramel, toasted malts, light fruity notes. Taste is caramel, nuts, light toast, apple and stone fruits. Medium bodied. Decent.

Tap. Pours a hazy slightly darker golden color with a small white head. Aroma is hops, caramel, touches of other malts. Flavor is a pretty solid hop taste, with touches of caramel and a sweet finish on the palate. Not a bad one.

Growler from the brewery. Pours a clear copper tinted red color with a moderate creamy offwhite head. Fair head retention and lacing. Aroma of bread, caramel, brown sugar, cinnamon and other spices. The taste is also very spicy with lots of cinnamon, anise, brown sugar, molasses. Lots of fruitiness as well with raisins, cherries, plum. Thin-medium bodied. Soft carbonation. Not the brewery’s best Belgian style effort, but decent nonetheless.

Served on draft at Beer Run in Charlottesville, VA. Pours a dark rust-tinted brown color with a medium sized frothy brown head. Decent head retention and lacing. Aroma is chocolate primarily along with light roastiness and bitter, leafy hops. The taste also features chocolate along with caramel and lightly bitter leafy hop notes. Smooth and creamy. Medium bodied. Good beer.

Very fresh growler from the brewery. Pours a very lightly hazed straw yellow color with a medium sized creamy head. Decent head retention and lacing. Aroma is grainy and slightly acrid with strong grassy hops. Taste is bitter grassy hops, grain and a fruity finish including bubblegum, red apple, plum. Strong bitterness. Assertive carbonation. Light-medium bodied. Good for the style.

Served on draft at the brewpub. Pours a clear amber-copper color with a medium head. Decent head retention and lacing. Fresh hoppy aroma with floral and citrus notes along with a strong caramel note. Taste is bitter and hoppy with resinous and citrus notes along with some nutty notes. Very refreshing. Light body.
