23rd June 2017. Found a 500ml clear bottle of this (BB May 2018) at the back of my fathers fridge. Really surprised I have never rated it before, cask yes, bottle format, no. Anyway it’s a reddy amber in colour and has a fast fading beige head. Malty molasses (mostly caramel like) rule the nose and taste, slight herbal twist in both the aroma and flavour. Bog standard English Bitter really, not the best, but certainly not the worst.

50cl bottle from Lidl. Poured amber color, white head. Sweet toffee, caramelly aroma. Mild bitter sweet, toffee, caramel flavor. Sweet but I kinda enjoy the fudgy caramel malts here.

Bottle, 0.5l. Clear amber pour with two finger slightly off-white head. Surprisingly decent retention. Minimal lacing. Nose is mostly herbal with some earthy notes. Subtle bitter orange in the background. Medium body with soft carbonation. Texture is smooth and surprisingly thick. Aroma and taste pretty much typical for the style. Moderately bitter with slight metallic acidity. Earthy hops. Grassy. Peppery. Ashy. Usual cardboard-like aroma. Surprising amount of aroma for the low ABV. Short finish, a bit dry with metlic acidity. Overall, not bad. Unimaginative but drinkable nonetheless.

Pours clear Amber into an English pint. Sickly head with good retention. Caramel aromas. Soft with dark caramel and mild raisin upfront turning to dry earth in the medium length finish. Highly sessionable.

An inoffensive bitter. Not much going on to excite the palate, but an enjoyable pint of beer. Malt, some hops and a pleasant mouthfeel.
