Courtesy of Degarth. Pours clear brown-ish amber with thin tan head. The aroma is fruity with plums, cherries, prunes and raisins. Very little malt noticed. The taste is mildly fruity with esters moving into a note of malt astringency tartness then a pretty solid smokiness. Midway and into the finish a Munich like grainy malt rises up to join the smoke sensation. Pretty cool.

(Bottle at Pivovarsky Klub, Prague, 23 July 2008) Amber colour with frothy, white head. Malty, buttery nose with toffee, dried fruit and floral hops. Malty, spicy taste with notes of dried fruit, apricots and floral hops in a slightly bittersweet finish. Medium to full body, rather sweet. I must admit, I find it quite nice actually.

Bottled@RBESG 2008 Grand Tasting
Golden color, no head. Diacetyl, wood aroma. Fizzy carbonation. Apple-like flavor otherwise only some maize and cardboard flavors. Horrible.

RBESG08 grand tasting Aaah... unless I’m mistaken, my last beer of the tasting. The illegibility of the rating is astounding. Deep orange-golden body. Grainy nose, bready? Malty taste again, bit (...). Guess it’s another I have to rate as soon as possible.
