Dark ruby color with small off-white head. Roasted, dark bread aroma with grassy hops. Fizzy carbonation. Roasted dark malty flavor with some Kozel Dark kind of sweetness. In the finish strong burst of typical Nova Paka woody hops - they use same hops in every beer? Strong cellary flavors.

It would call this a Bohemian pilsner, it does have the saaz hop character. Nice saaz aroma, and a good looking, gold colored beer. Undercarbonated, maybe an old bottle. Some hop flavor. Recognizable as a Czech pilsner, but it would be better fresh.

Bottled. Deep reddish amber colour with small beige head, which vanishes quite fast. Aroma is toffee, some nectar, roasted malts and red berries. Some mild vanillaish notes are also to be found a while after pouring. Flavour is not too sweet caramel malts along with some mild burnt sugar and red berries. Easy to drink brew, but at the same time quite enjoyable.

12 oz bottle from Trader Joes; Nose of light caramel malts, clear copper with a small beige head; flavor has some light caramel and a miniscule amount of hop bitterness. Not much of a Pils!

350 ml bottle. An improvement over the BrouCzech Lager. A bit more dark malt smell, though still a little oxydized and grainy. Pour nice, if dull brown color with a fizzy lager head. Taste is okay, but seems to show a little phenol and possibly some corn. Bitterness is there, but hops are difficult to pick out. Maybe be a little old. Available at Trader Joe’s, Downers Grove, IL
