Bottle (from Pivni Galerie Praha-Holesovice): Golden colour;fluffy off-white head; shy floral hoppy nose; initial smooth maltiness with a tinge of honey; medium bodied, quite fizzy; only short-lasting bitter-sweet finish with some herbal notes; lacks a bit a more distictive hoppiness; all in all fair and well quaffable...........

(Bottle 200 cl) Comes as "Slawjanskoje Bockbier" at 7,0% ABV. Amber-coloured, full-bodied beer with some weak caramel-notes and a rather pronounced bitterness. Decent head. Very solid if not exactly refined. 080205

(bottle) Golden colour with a medium foamy white head. Slight aroma of malts with a touch of honey. Medium sweet flavour and body. A quite slim Bock, thus I´d rather call it a stronger pale Lager. Initially malty sweetness with a soft dry slightly hopped finish. Not too alcoholic and quite ok.

Bottle: Dark-red to dark-amber coloured, hazy, thin off-white head; sweet, caramel nose, not so complex, tinge of roasted malts; slightly sweetish beginning, full malty taste leading to a quite dry malty and clear hoppy (herbal) aftertaste. Well quaffable, but not so well rounded.

An orange beer with a disappearing white head - and the label is a beutiful totalitarian specimen with a black and white "we love the industry" picture of the brewery. The aroma is metallic and totalitarian. The flavor is also very totalitarian with notes of metal and hops.

Bottled, now brewed by Pivovar Nova Paka. Pale golden. Dusty aroma. Dry and ashy with simplistic clean mouthfeel and bitter finish. Gimmicky.

Floral aroma. Yellow, white head. Herbal and hops flavors. Light and very clean. Refreshing. A step up from a standard lager, but not does not match up to Budvar or Pilsner Urquell.

Bottled. Dark golden coloured, big white bubbly head. Malty aroma with hints of fruit and alcohol. Very smooth palate, and flavour of sweet fruit with hints of malt and alcohol. Aftertaste is sweet fruits, and some berries. A bit mouthdrying. Reminds of some liquors by the sweetness.

2004 bottle. Pour is a dull grey-tinged brown with a touch of tan on the edges. Beige colored head is quite full, but fairly rapidly receding. The bottle talks about natural carbonation, and yet, I don’t see any trace of sediment, but then, who are they to lie? Aroma smells of sweet caramel malt, faint roast, a bit of cola and clean lager yeast. Flavor starts out quite malty. Plenty of caramel and light brown sugar, almost syrupy even, but it sticks to the palate nicely and stays strong through the finish. Finish has some problems with dry, stale roasty flavors, almost like burnt coffee, but it’s fleeting and not highly noticeable. For the most part, it finishes quick and with only a small yeast crispness and light hops bitterness. The more I drink, the more the sticky-sweet malt overwhelms and as it warms and breathes, the crispness on the finish for which I long, continues to grow weaker and weaker. Medium body, though, with little thinning, if any. Soft carbonation, with large, airy bubbles.

Bottled. Golden colour, quickly disspitaing head. Evident soay saaz hop aroma. Dryish and light bodied with rounded mouthfeel and bitter finish. Pretty decent.
