Bottled (BB 03/2005)
Dark honey yellow color with medium foamy head, lace. Aroma is crisp and soapy. Hoppy, harsh, flavor of dried hay. Strong alcoholic and soapy palate with long bitter and warming aftertaste.

Quite an unusual lager, starting with a fairly typical clear golden pour with corn, grassy hops and DMS (butter) in the aroma. The flavor profile was strange and had an almost Belgian-like quality with apple peel notes. Earthy, bitter, spicy hops rounded out the body with hints of metal and pencil lead. Thin-bodied. Weird.

[I believe this is the beer I’ve had - mine was named Slawjanskoje Lagerbier - brewed by Nova Paka and weighing in at 5% ABV and looking like a dunkel] The color is caramel and it has a fluffy white head. The aroma is like plastic and the flavor is like metal flavored plastic. Yuk.

A caramel colored beer with a fine white head. The aroma is weird with notes of grass, caramel, brewing cereal, and hints of malt. The flavor contains a lot of aroma hops but also has notes of caramel. The end is nice hoppy bitter. The flavor is a lot better than the aroma promises.

A caramel colored beer with a small disappearing white head. The aroma is of caramel and plastic and so is the flavor. Not a good beer.

A light yellow beer with no head. It has a fresh spicy (cannabis) aroma. It has a very fresh taste with a prickeling feel on the tongue. A special and very good beer.

Definitely worth the 99 cents, it's even cheaper than one of those 10-10-220 calls! It doesn't taste any worse than fancier, more expensive imports like Heinekem or Tsingtao. Doesn't taste any better either. this brew had a nice hops flavor at the start but got consistently more sour at the end. Pale gold color with bitter aroma. I doubt I'll spend the $.99 on this again.
