23/4/2026. Can shared by Robin, cheers! Pours well. Aroma is buttery, grainy, hint of coconut cream. Medium sweet with some mellow bitterness. Moderate body, average carbonation. Easy drinker, nice on a hot day.

Apparently the importer has increased the price of Sinha/ Lion Stout. So. Can. Pretty much black, a good cm of tan head. Roasty aroma with liquorice, dark sugars. Sweetish with lots of dark sugars, bread and some roast before a decently bitter finish. Decent beer but lacks the depth and complexity of the competition.

Bottle, bb 4/26. Clear amber, an inch of white head. Aroma of pears, sugar, some grain. Pretty light bodied. Cooked pear, grainy crackers, modest earthy bitterness. Alcohol is fairly obvious but not raw. Beat expectations.

Can in my Colombo apartment before leaving. I’m expecting more from this one. Maybe an exact copy of Lion Stout or maybe even just brewed by them. It’s the same ABV. Anyway, let’s see.. it looks the part. Nicely black with a good beige head. The aroma, the flavour, it doesn’t seem like Lion Stout. It just seems lighter, less going on. Maybe someone more dedicated than me can try them side by side some day, or find out the truth. For me, it time to catch some rest and head to another country. A country with no beer so goodbye Brewver for a while..

Left over can tick in my Colombo apartment before I leave. Damn when I bought this I didn’t think it would be another bloody strong lager. I wouldn’t have bothered. I just saw “tropical” on the can and thought IPA. Of course not, where am I! Anyway, the beer. Nothing tropical about the aroma of flavour. It’s just another crappy park bench strong lager. Drain pout for me.
