Description
The brewery was founded in 1867 as the Dampfbrauerei Carl Kuntze. Later the name was changed into "Brauerei Neunspringe" on an old field name which in turn is derived from nine springs in the source area of the Hahle, from which the brewery draws its spring water. The brewery survived the war and stayed in the hand of the Kuntze family. But in 1953 the brewery was confiscated and transferred to a state-owned company, a situation that lasted till the end of the GDR. After a trust agency period by the Treuhandanstalt, the company became in a private limited company (GmbH) again in 1994.

Süffiger, allerdings auch leicht oxidierter Beginn. Süßlich, hellmalzig, minimale Herbe, unspannend. OK. 8/10/8/8/9/8

Clear golden with a big foamy head. Grainy, bready, cereal, bread. Grainy sweetness. Light bodied, oily watery texture, soft carbonated, grainy bready finish. Basically, not a bad Helles, had definitely worse, but it’s pretty mild without any hops.

Bottle from a local supermarket. Looks simple but good. Beer in the glass with a small head. Starts fine malty, spicy, mild sweetish notes. Light grasy touch. Shy hoppy background. Finish well balanced, fine spicy-malty. Not bad.

Clear deep golden beer with a white lacing. Aroma of mild caramelized malt, biscuit. Taste of caramelized malt, biscuit, mild spicy bitterness.

Appearance: Clear gold with a tall white frothy head of perfect retention. Aroma: Pale malt, honey, sunflower seeds, spicy notes. Taste: Light sweet & bitter. Pale malt, honey, sunflower seeds, grass, spicy notes. Mouth feel: medium minus body, soft carbonation. Summary: Overpaid (4$).
