Second of two Italian lagers tried at Pub Italia (the other being Castello). Comes in a Dolomiti footed pilsner glass. Same yellow colour with a white frothy head and a little lacing. Again, pilsner nose with light grass. The mouthfeel is crisp and almost dry. Malty taste with notes of hop that makes things grassy. Some light sweetness was also present. This one is definitely a bit better than the Castello. "A bit", I said.

Bottle. A clear, dark golden beer with a dense, white head of moderate size. Malty and fruity nose with a distinct alcohol touch. All quite weak. It’s full-bodied and slightly warming on the palate, with an appropriate level of carbonation. The flavor is pretty much like the aroma, malty and fruity with the alcohol in the back. It’s doesn’t feel as sweetish as the aroma does, but it’s still far from a world class brew. Still, I could drink it again, at least if the choice was some crappy pale lager. 110624

0.5L bottle, 5.9%, 1.95€. Clear light-amber color, fine white head, small but lacing. Light floral, herbs, raisin, malts aroma. A little roasty, caramel. Medium bitterness, slicky feel, medium-light body, average carbonation, dry. Long hoppy finish. Not a masterpiece, but as a fan of Pedavena i like it, also if quite expensive. By side note, avoid touching the labels when wet, they leave a strange rust-iron smell on your fingers.

66ml bottle, local beer in reduced distribution. Historical brewery founded in 1897, acquired by Heineken in 1974 and menaced of closing in 2004. But fortunately Castello took over. Top-level Italian industrial production. Clear gold, explosive head, quickly reducing but always lasting, or just shake the glass and she pops up again. Light malt and hops, herbal, straw, earthy and simple pilsener. Light body, lightly sour. Dry and light bitter finish. Medium-high carbonation, an energic pouring will reduce it. Not an export product, but a must in north-Italy hills.

Nice surprise from a cheap beer. Made at Pedavena plant, it’s quite a warranty. 66 Cl bottle 4.7°, i think at 0.70€ or so, from Billa AG. First hit was strong herbal, straw, hops, then cereals kick in. Somewhat bitter but not like a pilsener. Clear gold, medium carbonation, enjoyed the entire bottle, it was not annoying at all. Strange brand, economic beer, but absolutely worth.
