Bottle 50 cl. Pours an almost clear amber with an off-white head. Slight toffee in the nose - paired with a distinct smokiness. The label doesn't mention smoke, so I'm wondering if it's an infection. Medium body, malty, slightly tart with a light bitterness. I honestly think this is somewhat infected. 230620

Bottle 75 cl. Pours amber with a slight haze and a small, off-white head. Sweet caramel nose. Medium body, very soft on the palate, nutty, dark dried fruits, figs and dates and all that. Massively oxidized. Doesn't quite have the yeastiness or the complexity of a Dubbel, but we're in that territory. Bière de Garde, I think not! Quite nice to be honest. 230620
