Description
BreakRoom Brewery started as just that. A breakroom for wood workers, brewers (and friends of course) to come and share the pure love of beer and handcraftsmanship. We're proud to be able to share our original breakroom, with all of you - in a much nicer and bigger space.

In addition to providing great craft beer and food, BreakRoom Brewery showcases expert craftsmanship and love for woodworking throughout. Every piece of wood has been carefully cut, sanded, stained and installed within BreakRoom Brewery. Upon entering BreakRoom, you can take in the 40 foot bar made of ribbon stripe sapele wood and a piece of 300 million year old petrified wood inlaid upon the bar for all to see, touch and enjoy. Sunlight from the skylights highlight tables throughout the space, which are handcrafted from various species of wood and uniquely designed. Reclaimed barn wood from a farm over 150 years old frames and covers the outside of the brew house. Used barrels from friends at Journeyman Distillery have been made into light fixtures, which hang from the 30-foot ceiling. Original wooden trusses have been restored and highlight character from the building’s past while paying tribute to its urban setting.

Following in the steps of the unique handcrafted surroundings, the hand-crafted BreakRoom Brewery beers are sure to impress and offer something for everyone.

Enjoyed on tap at Breakroom Brewery in Chicago, IL while drinking a sampler flight of different Imperial Lakta’s. Out of the batch of 4 this was towards the bottom...not sure why, it was perfectly fine, but there was something that I felt was missing from this one. Definite coffee notes came out, but nothing overtly distinct or special about it. Still good though.

Enjoyed on tap at Breakroom Brewery as part of a flight of Lakta samplers. Good stuff, cinnamon came through well as this got warmer, definitely milky & sweet. Would have again.

Enjoyed on tap at Breakroom Brewery as part of a flight of Imperial Lakta’s. This may have been my favorite of the bunch. Rich and sweet with a great chocolate / mint profile, definitely for those who have a sweet tooth, but nicely brings out lactose and coffee notes, and I just found myself enjoying this one more than the others. Would definitely have again!

Enjoyed on tap at Breakroom Brewery in Chicago, IL as part of a taster flight. I didn’t take tasting notes, but this was a good (not great) heavy sweet stout. Definitely a nice balance of coffee and chocolate, little sweet, but nothing really stuck out with this one. Still good, but for the style there are so many other brews that offer more.

Enjoyed on tap at Breakroom Brewery in Chicago, IL while grabbing a quick beer with my father-in-law. I didn’t take tasting notes, but overall thought this was a nice dunkel, a bit heavy on the banana / fruit notes, but enjoyable albeit sweeter than other dunkel’s I’ve had.

Enjoyed on tap at Breakroom Brewery in Chicago, IL. 5 oz taster sample. I didn’t take tasting notes, but remember this being heavy on the vanilla, very much a decadent porter, dry not too thick, overall enjoyable and would have again.

Enjoyed on tap at Breakroom Brewery in Chicago, IL while grabbing some dinner with my cousin. I didn’t take tasting notes for this one, but remember this being a great, flavorful malty ale that nicely masks the 9% ABV. Would have again!

Purchased in growler form from Breakroom Brewery in Chicago, IL while entertaining guests on Labor Day weekend. Appearance is a ruby red, moderate brown, with a prevalent white head. Aroma of light sprucey hops, caramel malt, smell is pretty good. Taste is good, light bitterness and sweetness, citrus and tropical hop notes, very much enjoyable, one of the best from this brewery in my opinion.

Enjoyed on tap at Breakroom Brewery for my birthday while having some food. I didn’t take tasting notes for this, but remember this being a decent, lightly dry, lightly floral saison / farmhouse ale. Nothing exceptional about it, just decent.
