Drank cold. The appearance of the liquid is of a clear type. The olfactory intensity is high, and the olfactory persistence is appreciable. The taste on the nose - dominant aroma is of malted Koji rice. The taste on the nose - secondary aromas traces vanilla, white peach and melon. The first impression of intensity in the mouth is of vigorous and medium dry sake. The body is structured. The taste intensity is high, and the taste persistence is good. On the palate the aftertaste is intense and persistent. The taste is pleasant. The finish is velvety, clean and complex. The palate brings hints of vanilla, white pulp peach, melon, dried apricot and banana.

Bottle.

A- Citrus, yogurt, slightly sour, apples.

A- White color, cloudy liquid, no head.

T- Milky, lemon, yogurt.

P- Light body, average texture, average carbonation, creamy finish.

O- This was weird as hell. It was actually chunky. Felt like drinking some curdled yogurt or something. As weird as it was, it was kind of enjoyable.

Bottle.

A- Toasted sesame, wood, dried fruits.

A- Golden color, clear liquid, no head.

T- Subtle tequila, wood.

P- Medium body, average texture, average carbonation, smooth finish.

O- My first Koshu sake and maybe my favorite sake to date. Really enjoyed this. If I didn’t know any better I would think I was drinking a nice tequila. Probably way off in my thinking but that’s really what came to find.

720 ml bottle from Yamaya. The store claims it is 20 years old. Very pretty yellow color, clear, shiny and oily with great legs on the glass. Ripe, aged nose: rice, plums, raisins, caramel, sherry. Oxidiized nicely. Elegantly sweet, not overly so. Nice balance with alcohol. Dried plums and raisins, toasted rice, toffee, super-ripe persimmon, peaches and melon. Silky and oily body. Great stuff. Highly drinkable and clean. Not hugely oxidized like most koshu.

720 ml bottle from Liquor Mountain. Slightly oily, icy, shiny appearance. Nose of rice, koji, esters and spice, soap, pepper. Flavor is bit sweet, estery, nectarine and mandarins, pepper, grass. Alcohol present. Spicy, peppery finish. Decent enough stuff, especially considering the low price.

300 ml bottle. Clear, slightly thick and viscous appearance. Rich, fruity, full aroma with rice. extremely fruity flavor, rather sweet, with big nasal alcohol (20%!). Fruits include grape, cherry, banana, melon, changing over time, finally settling on a huge pineapple juice aroma. Also some gumballs. Sweet but actually very cleean and never cloying. Huge flavor with a thick, full palate. Love it.
