Bottled. A pitch black beer with a thin brown head. The aroma has notes of roasted malt and soy sauce. The flavor is sweet with notes of malt and chocolate as well as lighter notes of something burnt and wood, leading to a dry roasted finish. The body is thick.

Bottle. It pours a big, fizzy, diminishing off-white head over a hazy, golden body. Slightly unclean nose with good banana, maybe a bit too much bubblegum, some lemon and a hint of cloves. Dry and medium-bodied, too effervescent. Banana and some bubblegum has company of wheat, lemony sourness and a spiced touch. Nice bitterness, and a faint note of acetone. Bitter finish with banana. Far from my favorite hefe-weizen. Unbalanced and a bit unclean, but sure drinkable. Was close on BB-date, maybe a fresher bottle would be a better experience, but I doubt it. 100104
