Bottle from Der Doppelbock. Brown color. Buttery, caramelly aroma with roast and some vegetable notes. Fat malty sweet, caramelly roasty flavor with hints of laurel, chocolate and chichory. Roastbitter, buttery aftertaste.

On tap @ Karoeck, Hamburg. Looks, smells and tastes like a run-of-the-mill Pils from northern Germany. Earthy, grassy, grainy, bready, metallic, bitter. Damp basement. Dry and süffig but not really great.

50 cL bottle. Pours clear and golden yellow with a small white head. Aroma is grassy and slight metallic. Slight sweet cornish, light toasted malt and bitter grassy. Vague metallic. Bitter and dry grassy finish.

Bottle @ Flensburg. Pours amber copper with a small white bubbly head. Sweet malty aroma with a bit of bread and caramel. Medium bodied. Flavor is caramel, bread, grain and a touch of alcohol. OK

Pale blond color. Light arma of hay and chestnuts. Very dry mouthfeel, light hay flavor, ordinary bitterness, with a shade of hop. Not convincing.
