Bottled: Slightly cloudy golden body with a creamy big, lasting head. Very strong aroma with some yeast, hay, lemon peel, roses. The flavour is a unique mix of bitterness and acidity. The aftertaste is a mix of roses and a long lasting bitterness. A truly wonderful beer. Add: The same can be said for the draught version... Re-rate: Over the years, this beer has lost some of its original power. Plus, I’m less impressed now than I was when this was more or less my first ever IPA. Fine malt backbone, but especially the aroma lacks hops.

Pale orange, very slight haze, yellowish head, fast gone. Odour of freshly picked hops, very flowery & fruity, and cigar smoke. Taste is again strong but noble hoppiness combined with cigar (very outspoken flavour - funny but quite pleasing). Light to medium bodied. No new aftertaste; the main taste slowly eases out, leaving some bitterness. This is maybe what British brewers ought to look at to reshape their draught IPA. All the good points of a best bitter, with a bitterness seldom a Brit dares to achieve - but without any WestCoast excesses. Many thanks Martin & Jacob.

Bottle 2003: Dark, dark ruby beer with a long lasting creamy head. Aroma dominated by licorice with some chocolate, malt and fruit. Great mouthfeel and a well-balanced flavour makes it a really pleasant drink, although i doubt its use for food. It’s probably too intense and dominating. But as an aperitif or after dinner drink? Mmmmmm. Draught 2004: More alcohol in the flavor than I remember from last year? I had to lower my rating a bit on flavour and overall. But still the most beautiful beer I have seen. Bottle 2006: Still as beautiful and aromatic. The dry licorice flavour makes me up it from 7 to 8 again.

Amber/orange color, somewhat hazy with lots of sediments. Huge Duvel-ish head. Wonderful aroma of sun-ripe oranges, love it! The flavor is all hops, a tad soapy but it's a great beer anyway.

Very hazy, yellow/brown-ish colour. Nice head. Spicy, orangey, hefe weizen-ish aroma. Extremely spicy flavour. Nice, in the beginning but after half a bottle I start thinking of cough mixture.

This beer has a beutiful red color and a fantastic head - just wait for it to be poured. The aroma is very sweet with notes of rowanberries. The flavor is fine with notes of berries and some sharpness though rounded. It is a little watery in the middle but turning nicely bitter in the end. It is not as dark as it is supposed to be according to the style. Another OK beer from Brøckhouse - but far from as good as IPA and Stout.

Cloudy amber, poor head. Malty and fruity aroma. Strong mouthfeel, malty, boldly bitter, good hop aromas, leading to a very good final. Another good brew from Brøckhouse.

Sampled draught at the Danish Beer Festival.
Ruby coloured with lively rich head. Soapy, roasty aroma. Sweet and clean, softly malty. Flowery bitter finish. Pleasand and well balanced.

A black beer with a beutiful chocolate brown head. The aroma is light with notes of sweetness, fruitiness and slight chocolate notes. The flavor is creamy soft, sweet, slightly smoked with a lot of chocolate and coffee notes. A very complex flavor - ending on a pretty strong bitterness. A really great stout with great complexity. Though not very smoked for a stout. I'll definatly go back for this one - and if You get the chance - try it!!!

Cloudy blond color. Nice aroma of citrus fruits, wonderful blend of citrus fruits, some malt, spices. Maltier than others, maybe one of the most complex white beers I had. Brøckhouse will always surprise me!
