A yellow beer with an orange head. The aroma is sweet malty with a light note of straw, while the flavor is sweet malty again with a note of straw, before a lightly bitter end sets in.

(Bottle 50 cl) Formerly - and in my version - known as "Bärenquell Dunkler Bock" from "Bärenquell Brauerei". Both beer and brewery have changed names, but it’s the same, excellent stuff. A colour almost like burned nougat, small off-white head. Loads and loads of roasted malts in this: malty nose, malty body - malt everywhere. Caramel-like flavours beutifully matched by a pronounced but not overwhelming bitterness. A truly great beer. 020799

Bottle - slightly sweet malty aroma. Sweet grainy flavor with only a hint of hops - fairly high carbonation. Very mild and bland for a landbier. Okay but like this type of beer to have more character.

Bottle - a rye malt aroma. dark brown color. Full rye/oat malt flavor with some sweetness and light hops. A very unique beer - reminds me a bit of Samuel Smith’s oatmeal stout but has a distinct rye flavor to it (like German rye bread not the American kind with caraway seeds).
