Cask gravity at Kent BF 2006. Crystal clear pale copper colour with bubbly disappearing off white head. Yeasty caramel aroma. Caramel in mouth. Spritzy hoppy citrus finish.

BotTle picked up from Waitrose 10th July 2006. Pours a golden colour, definate hoppy and floral notes to this beer, tasted also very hoppy with nice bitterness levels and all in all a pretty good beer.

Bottle. Pours a golden colour with an off-white head. Malty and floral aroma with hints of citrus. Malty flavor with lots of bitter hoppiness. Sweet malty finish with a bitter aftertaste.

Bottle picked up in Waitrose, Witney, July 10th 2006. Maybe I liked this one so much because I tried it imediately after two unimpressive lager style beers, anyway I really liked this. Golden in colour with a small white head great hoppy, citrusy aroma and a wonderful hoppy taste which had a great lingering bitter finish. I don’t know whether they have changed this significantly since it was added to this database but there is a label change and unless I am going mad I thought it said Styrian Hops.

500 ml bottle, Best before 29 Dec 06. Happy beer smell when opened makes a good first impression. Deep ruddy brown in color shows light through the glass well. Taste, though, is kind of standard. Perhaps I’m too used to American iterations of the style, which would involve more bitterness. As it is, a pleasant English session beer. Although borrowing into a glass, I do find some more fresh hops taste. Just want to get through whatever Youngs beers I can find before the brewery shuts down.

Bottle. Amber colour with a small off-white head. Fruity malty aroma with some hints of caramel. Flavor is malty with some hints of caramel. A little thin. Aftertaste is malty with some bitterness.

Cask at Wenlock. Copper colour with sparse off white head. Some typical Young’s yeast, citric hop develops throught the mouth to the finish. Yep ok bitter. Yeast is quite nice on it and zesty hop finish. Bit under developed. In fact it got taken off to rest. Bit muddled. Hops are distinctive though
