LCRBM2. Hazy brown, lasting beige head. Lovely aroma of malt. Rich malt in mouth and then a malty finish. Intense brown malty beer, nice if a bit one dimensional.

Thanks to Numenor for this. Pours almost black with a dark tan head that falls rather quickly. Spicy chocolate and caramel aroma. Slightly sweet with some burnt notes at the sides. The chocolate that was hinted at in the aroma fails to appear as a flavor profile, leaving only the burnt malt there to fend for itself. Some sourness as well. O.K., but not the best.

On tap at the brewpub. Clear golden body with a medium frothy white head. Sweet light banana aroma. Very light banana flavor, with some light hops. Originally they were trying to crisp up the lager, but they went a tad overboard on the belgian yeast giving this a definite hefe feel. I’d call it a Kristallweizen but it doesnt have the requisite wheat.

Muddy brown-red; small yellow head. American bale hops and some molasses, peat moss. Sweet taste with dry-bitterish hops, but very little else. Molasses, yes. Quite chewy, ending lighter. Some alcoholburn. Good beer, but it is just a bit too much on the hedge between style directions.

Clear light amber body with a small creamy white head. Faint malty aroma. Light malty flavor, a hint of dark malt. Very smooth and easy to drink.

Thanks to Numenor for this one! Pours with a generous head of tan over a deep brown body. Caramel aroma with some earthy, nutty, notes. Mild sweetness followed by a slight drying from the hops. Bitter finish. Smooth and easy drinking.

kp’s Fest of 26 Pours a clear, deep, amber. The aroma is complex, caramel malt and dried fruit. Smooth sweet start, with a good supportive bitterness. The bitterness comes in at the back, and remains through the finish. The body is a bit thin, but overall this is an acceptable Barleywine.

Thanks to Numenor for this one. Pours with a deep garnet- tinged brown body that creates a large tan head that persists for quite a while before slipping to join the beer below. Toasty caramel aroma with almost a burnt or smoky note to it. Smooth mouthfeel with a body that is a bit light. Light sweet malt flavor. Not as complex as I would like. A bit reserved and one dimensional, but easy drinking and tasty nevertheless. This would be a fantastic brown ale.

Thanks to Numenor for this one! A huge rocky head forms above this clear dark amber brew. Light malt aroma that is repeated in the flavor. An unpleasant sourness goes all through this one and makes it a disappointment. A bit light even for a brown ale, this one needs more nutty malts, a bit of body and to be cleaned up a bit.
