clear yellow, white head. aroma has a distinct ginger note and then some citrussy and flowery hoppy notes. flavor is lime, fainter ginger and some ginger bitterness, flavor is sourish somewhere between a radler and a gose, not too bad actually. however it does feel like they added lime juice and then tons of sugar to get it much sweeter. Checking the ingredients this could very well be the case. Would be much better if they had used tons of malts to create malty sweetness. tequila adds a little bit of teq. bitterness throughout and in the aftertaste.

Bottled (from Systembolaget Delfingatan Luleå). Golden colour, small white head. Aroma is floral, some mint and lemongrass tones. Very toothpaste like aroma. And very toothpaste like flavour. Minthe, lemongrass and some slight lime.

Blikje 15cl bij de boodschappen kado gekregen. Donkergeel bier met schuim wat snel wegzakt. Smaak is verrassend goed, fris fruitig met citrus en limoen en zeker niet chemisch. Komt eigenlijk over als een fruitige limonade die gelukkig niet al te zoet is.

Canned 500ml. -from Spar Tignes. Golden coloured, medium sized white head, lively carbonation, oranges in the nose. Sweet taste, light artificial cough syrup mixed with oranges and some sugar in the finish. Pleasant surprise.

Appearance: clear copper colour with a large off-white frothy head of good retention. Aroma: fruit flavourings, tequila, candy, malt, alcohol. Taste: pretty similar. Medium sweet, light sour and bitter. Strange. Unusual. Very doubtful. Mouth feel: medium to full body, soft to average carbonation. Summary: did not understand a thing.

--Sample, thanks oh6gdx! -- Desperados is such a legendary beer. It has inspired more or less then entire craft beer industry as we know it today, when all we see on our shelves are comercially branded stuff filled to the brim with auxilliary flavours, often artificial ones. To be clear, Desperados was also one of the most horrible beers ever to have been produced at the time. Of course it is wat surpassed by other, more expensive ones. This version is clear golden with mid sized head. Aroma of pure artifical Mojito extract. Syrupy sweet with light to medium body and clean, sticky mouthfeel. No bitterness. Not the slightest intimidated by this one anymore - it is pretty much middle of the road I'm afraid.
