(On tap) Clear, amber golden with a small, off-white head. Weak caramel aroma with a note of citrus. Rather light-bodied - perhaps even watery - with a touch of malt and oranges. Short, dry finish. Slightly better than the standard Tuborg Julebryg, but it takes more than a shot of oranges to save a mediocre beer. 281005

Bottled. A typical discount beer, as it is usually seen on pallets, and not in shelves. That is even clearer when you pop the cap, and pour it and sample it. Amber with an off-white head. Aroma is of grain and metal. Hints of caramel in flavour. Stay away! (051106)

White, smallish coarse-laced head; clear copper body. Doesn’t look like a Christmas beer to me. Strange, nutty aroma that seems slightly off. Taste is no better, really. Quite hoppy, but nothing much else is detectable, except some ugly buttery notes. Aftertaste is also poor. Not sure why I bother describing it this carefully. Surely this particular bottle must be off? It can’t really be this bad, can it? Hard to see how this stuff would do anyone any good, Tuborg included.

330 ml bottle. Oh my god, a special version of Tuborg Juleøl for the Norwegian grocery store market, with a meagre ABV of 4.5%. Obviously designed as a discount brand on this market, Norwegian brewed Tuborg Pils has an equivalent role here too. Amber colour, low head, little lacing. Minimal aroma, hints of caramel. Flavour is unbelievably bland and uninteresting, a little caramel and a minimal amount of cheap hop extract. Avoid!

Blond color. Quite simple aroma. Chewy strong lager, warming, not wrong, but where is the pleasure in drinking this?

Bottled. Malty aroma. Golden with white head. Quite flat beer. Taste is malty, grainy. Aftertaste has some bitterness and alcohol too. (051011)
