12 oz. bottle, $1.50 loose at HyVee, Storm Lake, IA. No expiry code. Twist-off cap. Poured in my Sam Adams glass, there’s a slightly cloudy brown beer under a thin head. Some sediment left in the bottle. This has gotten old, I think, probably why it sat in the loose rack. Oxidized, slightly phenolic smell that I can’t count against an undated bottle. At least that means there’s malt in here, and that’s plain with the taste. It’s malty sweet, but a bit medicinal. Hops have dwindled away. Hate to knock a beer for being past its prime, but I can’t rate based on what I think it would taste like. Clearly a chance for a nice, malty English beer that is, it seems, not easy to find where I am.

Bottle 275ml.Clear light to medium amber color with a small to average, fizzy, fair lacing, mostly diminishing, off-white head. Aroma is moderate malty, oxidide, caramel, cardboard. Flavor is moderate sweet with a average duration. Body is medium to light, texture is watery to oily, carbonation is soft to flat. [20090808]

Bottle. Pours a clear copper amber with a medium creamy off white head that lasts awhile leaving good sticky lacing along the glass. The aroma is a spicy fruit aroma with caramel and light bready malt. Medium mouthfeel with a bitter malt with caramel and a nice sugary finish. A good ESB from Boston Beer.

Bottled. Amber colour, not much head. Aroma is raisins, sweet caramel, some wood as well as mild vanillaish and sugary notes. Flavour is quite much the same. Very vintage.

Bottled (at Chriso, bottle from SilkTork, I think). Amber color, small white head. Caramelly, some fruit candy. Very watery. Very old bottle showing some cellary notes.

Pours deep amber into a Sam glass. Medium head leaves spot lacing as it slowly recedes. Caramel malt aromas. Sweet caramel and quite carbonated upfront. Dry, sour and stale finish.

thanks kim for sharing, 33cl bottle, not much aroma wise, kinda faint, and also kinda bitter in the boring-bitterness way. light amber, small white head. flavor is sweetish, caramellish, bitterhops i dont like.

25 cL bottle, courtesy of KimJohansen. Pours clear and golden orange with a small white head. Dark malty, slight overripe fruity note. Sweet caramel and fruity yeasty flavoured. Light carbonation mouthfeel. Mild and slight crisp bitterness into a medium dry finish with a lasting malt impression.
