550ml bottle. Amber with a thin white head;musty hop aroma; quite prickly in the mouth; beardy yeast flavour with some caramel, slight vinegar acidity. Rather flat for a traditional English pale ale, but drinkable.

275ml bottle from the Swan Hotel, Hythe, Kent. "Brewed in the UK and distributed by InBev UK Ltd" I’ve not seen this elsewhere, but it’s available at a number of pubs and bars in Hythe.
Gold in colour with a thin white head; slightly herbal aroma; sweet malt body with a strong hop content; dry and bitter hop finish with a quinine bite. Overall quite impressive.

Bottle 0,275l at The The Old Red Lion - Kennington 6 Feb 08. Pale golden colored. A good looking lasting creamy head. Hardly any aroma. Flat, unvaried flavor. Some sourish bitterness in the finish. Dull.

Slightly hazy copper-amber colour. Very caramelly and a little bit oxidized nose. This never went across the pond, so what gives? Caramelly taste with some pear/plum/apricot vague fruitiness from the yeast. The usual boring two-step of pasteurized English ale.

Sampled from a 12 oz brown bottle this beer poured a caramel-amber color with a medium sized yellow-white head. The aroma had moderate fruity hops and a light sour nutty malt base. The flavor was lightly bitter with a noted fruity hop presence and notes of caramel and nut underneath. Caramel and fruity hops linger on the finish. Nicely balanced. Very drinkable.

Small white head. Light brownish body with carbonation. Light grain and caramel aroma with roasty notes. Dry grain and straw taste with caramel notes. Aftertaste is the same. Sharpish, fizzy mouthfeel. A bit watery. Decent, but unexciting. (0.33l bottle at the Lord Clyde.)

Clear amber body with a medium creamy tan head. Sweet caramel aroma, light biscuit and a touch of diacetyl. Earthy hop aroma. Sweet caramel flavor, medium light body with a light bitter finish.

Can. Clear, copper body, and a beige head. Malty-sweet aroma, with caramel, but it is quite weak. The same goes for the flavor, but it is a bit more evident. Considering the low ABV, it is a nice one, but I would prefer it beefed up a bit, and a fuller body. (070914)
