An orange-amber beer with a small orange head. The aroma is sweet with notes of caramel. The flavor is sweet spicy with notes of caramel, alcohol, and metal.

I’m surprised I haven’t tried this before, considering Mackeson XXX Stout is a favorite of mine. The Pale Ale poured a clear copper (red-brown) color with a thin off-white head. The aroma was punctuated by pleasant, earthy English hops. The body was toasty and caramely with earthy, leafy (tobacco) hops and a touch of bubblegum. Very Bass-like. A solid session ale.

Clear amber color, large head. Aroma of hops, some malt. Sweet and bitter taste, bit watery. Quite unbalanced pale ale, and the typical EPA features are too weak.

Amber, clear body. Brownish fizzy head, which is mostly lasting and is very good lacing. Sweet-malty flavour, with spicy sparkles. It reminds me of Gewurztraminer-wine (which is made in the Alsace in France). Light bitter initial flavour, it gets quite bitter and a little bit salty in the end. This beer had defenitely a long finish. Quite soft mouthfeel.

Whitbread Pale is not a bad pale ale but I think I prefer the Bass to this one. A good choice if you prefer your Pale ales with the hops cranked down a bit. Slightly sweet but the dryness comes through in the finish.

Dark colour for a Pale Ale, mild smell. Decent taste with a good somewhat hoppy aftertaste. A good beer to try. Sampled on Tap at MacGregor's in Rochester, New York.

Bottle. This beer has a bright golden hue to it and a decent size head that leaves quickly. Taste has a good chewy hop flavor, reminds me of apple crisp (oats and apples). No hints of alcohol with the slightly higher than average ABV. Great amount of carbonation (very little) for the bottle. A solid EPA.
