Description
NOTE: This listing is for beers originally produced by Whitbread Beer Company which continued to be produced following its purchase by Interbrew (Inbev) in 2001. Any beers not produced after 2000 are separately listed.

The Whitbread Beer Company officially stopped making beer in May 2000, and sold its brewing operations and beer brands to the Belgian brewing group Interbrew in 2001 (which later became part of Anheuser-Busch InBev).

Some Whitbread-branded alcoholic beverages are still available in the UK, such as canned Whitbread bitter, but these are not produced by Anheuser-Busch InBev, but rather under licence by other producers.

bottle - Pours dark amber with a medium sized, lingering head. It has a caramel malt aroma. The flavor is sweet caramel malt and some mild hops. Itโ€™s light on the hops for the style and a little on the thin side. Not bad though and it looks nice.

Aroma of nuts, bread, and caramel. Amber color with a white head that quickly flattened. Thin to moderate body. Slightly fizzy. Flavor is sort of nutty with a carmel sweetness. The bitter is arguably enough, but the finish seems malty more than bitter. Itโ€™s more of an amber than a pale.

Maple syrup aroma. Dark tea color, with a creamy tan head. Tastes of roasted chestnuts and sweet syrup. Good quality hops in the finish. Detractingly thin mouthfeel, not bitter at all. More like a brown ale, IMO.

Bottle. Sweet caramel/butterscotch aroma. Reddish amber with small head. Sweet toffee malt flavor - not nearly as much as the aroma would lead you to believe. Moderate carbonation.

Bottle. Pours a dark coppery brown with a nice off white frothy head that sits about a half inch high. Aromas are of sweet malt and apple juice, slightly fruity hops, and a touch of honey. Flavor is caramel apple with a slightly bitter hops finish. Comes off as a little watery and the malt and hops presence just doesnโ€™t come through stongly.
