27/12/2019. Bottle from Lauvas Alus, Riga. Pours black with a small beige head. Aroma of milk chocolate, light roasted malt, coffee, vanilla, dried fruit, nut and lactose with very light spiced notes. Medium plus sweetness, light bitterness. Moderate body, milky texture, average carbonation. Not a bad light easy drinking stout.

Sample courtesy of Grumbo, cheers Graham! Hazy reddish orangey-brown colour with a pink foam head that dissipate away and aroma of sweet berry fruits. Taste is sweet, jammy fruits, blackcurrant, berries, apple, then sour with some biscuit and cardboardy notes. Medium bodied, soft carbonation, semi-dry sourish finish. OK, abit oxidised.

19/11/2019. Bottle from Lauvas Alus, Riga. Pours dark pink with an average size off-white/pale pink head. Aroma of sweet apple, semi-sour blackcurrant, yeast, flowers and cranberry. Moderate sweetness and tartness. Light body, slight oily and watery texture, fizzy carbonation. Quite a nice aroma, and tart finish, but too fizzy. And yes, the label on the bottle is certainly 'interesting'.

Smell- weak, malt, maybe caramel, after reading I get some banana vibes. Foam- thin to medium, weak bitter and more malty notes. Head is medium, a bit to large size, yellow-white color. Appearance- hazy yellow, orange color. Some tiny carbonation, active, but not on sides, seems some sediment? Taste- yeast, malt, kind of sweet, very faint bitter notes and more malt, a bit of roast and yeast. Bit weird, but I like it, after time I seem to like it even more, maybe because I did not like my previous one. Still, I legit like this one, might be the best one from the brewery.

Bottle foam goes over when opening, so open carefully. Smell- medium strong, blackcurrant, apple. Foam- medium head, but does go over after opening, pink color, but do disappear fast. Thin, sour, sweet, cider, with blackcurrant notes (duh). Appearance- interesting drawings on the bottle, hazy, red, pink, bit like grapefruit juice color. Taste- acidic, but not as some ciders, weak blackcurrant notes. I am not big fan of ciders, but this is better than some others I had, but don't take my word for it, I don't like ciders usually.

Bottle at Lauvas Alus, Riga Well the session in Lauvas Alus with Fat Phil was going so well – until we chose this bottle as our last one ! Even then it starts off promisingly with a nice arome of roast bread and coffee. From then it is all downhill. Pours a murky dark brown with no head. The mouth is concentrated sharpness , like biting on a lemon. There are other sharp flavours as well, lime, quince and antiseptic cream. The lemon sharpness linger and is particularly difficult to get rid of. Horrible ! (reminds me of the Selijas Alus beer)

Not on the vid, bun based on the checklist. Smell- weak to medium, hops, candy, sweetness, interesting. Foam- thin, acidic, citrus, weak bitter notes. Head is medium, creamy yellow-white color. Sticks to sides. Appearance- hazy yellow, orange color, medium carbonated. Nice pug picture on the bottle. Taste- weak bitter-sweet with bitterness creeping up a bit. Some hops and citrus later, bit not my type, but decent.
