Smell-weak malt, bready, acidic, dried plums, interesting. Foam-malty, faint sweetness, bit acidic, bit bready. Head is small, white brown-ish white color. Appearance- resealable bottle.Clear-ish dark ruby color, no carbonation. From - snifter Taste - malt, dried plums, bread, yeast, some sweetness, acidic notes.I am getting loads of dried fruit notes here, maybe ripe apple even.. interesting and quite neutral. Weird, but not bad.

BBD may this year. Smell- weak to medium, malt. Foam- thin, weak sweetness and malt in the mix. Head is medium-large, white, or creamy white color. Appearance- simple white bottle cap, simple bottle with peace of paper hanged by rope, design on it - simple. Clear orange, brown color, no carbonation. From - pint glass Taste - weak bitter-sweetness, with malt after that and some metallic tones. It seems better balanced than marta alus, but in the aftertaste, it is still odd, seems characteristic to this brewery somehow. Sweet and malty with odd aftertaste.

BBD in may, this year. Smell- weak to medium, malt, caramel, some yeast. Foam- thin, bit to medium, some malt and bit of roast to it. The Head is quite small, the light brown-white color goes away fast and is quite loud. Appearance- simple orange bottle cap, simple bottle with peace of paper hanged by rope, design on it - simple. Medium-dark, hazy orange, brown color, low carbonation. From- pint glass Taste- malt, some acidic tones, a tiny bit of caramel in the mix and some malt-sweetness with some sour notes that does not seem to be working too good together with the rest. Nothing special.

19/7/2019. Bottle from Lauvas Alus, Riga. Pours amber brown with a small bubbly off-white head. Aroma of toffee, malt, chocolate, fruit and molasses. Medium plus sweetness, moderate roasted bitterness. Medium body, sticky texture, soft carbonation. Not a style I normally enjoy but this was pretty good.

On tap at Latvia Beerfest Lemon and grass cuttings in the nose. Pours a cloudy pale orange with minimal head. Lemon sharpness in the mouth, with the spices typical of wheat beers, coriander, bananas and bubblegum coming through later. Finish is lemon again. Pretty average

Re-rate based on checklist, old score 6/4/7/4/14=3,5 Smell-weak malty Foam- thin, malty, acidic, kvassy a bit. Head is small to medium, brown-white color. Appearance- generic bottle with black bottle cap. Seems black. From - tea cup Taste - malty, acidic, some roast and weak caramel. 1l resealable version was better than 0.5 l bottle, maybe batches differ, but seems we have gone full circle - bad, ok, and bad again. Not consistent beer.

1.5L PET bottle from Alus Pasaule, Riga Not much nose at all on this one, just faintly earthy. Pours a dark murky reddish brown, without much head. Initial taste is overwhelmingly diacetyl, but later other flavours come through, cough drops, cherries and peanuts. Soft carbonation. Finish is a profound sweetness. The diacetyl and method of bottling mean I would regard this more as a traditional ale (Latvian Country / Lauku beer) rather than a dunkel.
