Tap. Funky lemon barley malt aroma. Hazy pale yellow color with small head. Barnyard barley malt flavor with light herbal hops finish. Unique - a very nice beer.

Sampled on draft at GTMW 2011. Pours a hazy copper color with a thin head. Earthy and tart aroma with notes of honey, apples, faint chocolate and even fainter mint. The taste is caramel, toffee, earthy, stone fruits, minty hops. Slightly tart. Medium bodied.

Sampled on draft at GTMW 2011. Pours a murky reddish brown with nearly no head. Aroma of whisky, toffee, caramel, wheat and bread. The taste is tart unexpectedly with notes of toffee, wheat, sour cherries and whisky. Medium bodied.

Bottle @ RBESG 09 Grand Tasting @ [ The Harlequin, Sheffield, England. ]Unclear - hazy medium orange colour with a average, frothy, good lacing, mostly lasting, off-white to white head. Aroma is moderate malty, moderate hoppy, moderate yeasty, fruity, peach, pineapple, oak, yeast, sour yeast. Flavour is moderate to light heavy sweet and bitter with a average to long duration, hoppy, fruity, peach, dry oak notes, sour. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is fizzy - lively. On tap at MBGSF 2011, labeled as Bourbon Barrel Trippelweizenbock. Pours brown with gold highlights and an off-white to very light tan head. Bourbon and sweet cereat/wheat aroma. Flavor again leads with bourbon and wheaty ceereal flavor, with notes of cocoa and dark fruit coming up, strawberry and soy on occasion. Definitely some alcohol in there, too.

6th Annual MBG Winter Beer Festival, Grand Rapids. Hazy copper/amber body, thin off-white head. Perfumey nose, hoppy nose. Leafy, tangy, floral, perfumey body with bitter oak tannins. Complex and quite good.

tap at Hopcat, RBSG 2010 - Pours light amber with a small white head. The aroma is sour and fruity. The flavor is tart and sweet. It’s light bodied and works pretty well for what it is.
