Shared by GoT. Nicy oaky tannins with caramel malt beneath. Somewhat of an acidic finish. Alot of barrel character, not alot of doppelbock character, but its very good!

On tap at Dusty’s Tap Room, Okemos. Murky medium orange body, thin off-white head. Grassy, herbal, citrusy nose. Oily body with bitter, grassy, herbal hops, yarrow, grain, and lemony tartness. The generous ABV lends a vinous character to the beer. Good bite.

Beer #12 at GTMW. Very deep brown, you can still see a little light through it, but the bubbles are just kind of hanging around just beneath the surface like juvenile delinquents with no place to go. Smell has Belgian malt goodness with a little bit of sourness. Taste is actually quite sour, maybe off the style, but that’s what happens when fruits get stuck in. Excellent mouthfeel. For a tripel it turns out to be an interesting sour beer.

Blind tasting at Papsø’s
Cloudy red amber color. The aroma is mild, sour, fruity, cherry kernels. It has a mixed sour, fruity, astringent flavor, with light residual sweetness, cherry kernels. The final is more dry and astringent. Maybe a bit confused.

Cloudy orange color. Quite nice and dynamic aroma, hoppy, fruity, sour; cellar aroma. Medium mouthfeel, there is some astringent toffee flavor, strong hopping, woody, a bit sour, definitively astringent.

Muddy amber color. Sour aroma and flavor, some fruitness hiding here and there, vinegar aggressiveness. Pleasant but missing some good points.

On tap at Dusty’s Tap Room, Okemos. Translucent brown body, medium dense, creamy buff head. Bitter, sprucey, toasty nose, herbal, with a touch of bubblegum. Leafy, earthy body with pine and burnt leaves in additino to bubblegum. Toasty malts with light sweetness. Long, bitter finish. Quite enjoyable.

Tap at MBG Summer Festival. Poured a molasses looking (not texture) dark brown with an off-white head. Aroma was malty with a slight sour and bourbon undertone. Similar flavor with a nice balance of the malts and the flavor picked up from the bourbon cask.
