Tap @ craft beer Helsinki. Poured near black with a thin brown head. Heavy roasty, licorice and oatmeal in aroma. Flavor has sweetness, caramel, licorice, roastedness, some ash. Oatmeal, granola like in flavor. Chewy and good body. Again an interesting brew from this brewery.

(Keg at St. Urhos Pub Sahtipäivät 2017, 20170517) The beer poured dark brown and clear. No head. Aroma had juniper, malts and sweetness. Palate was medium bodied with low carbonation. Flavours were sweetness, juniper, malts and bitterness. Aftertaste was sweet, malty and bitter. A nice balanced sahti. Alcohol was bit too much present at the finish.

(Keg at HBF2017) The beer poured dark brown and clear. Its head was small and white. Aroma had malts, caramel, creamy toffee and mildly molasses. Palate was full bodied with medium carbonation. Flavours were sweetness, creamy toffee, malts, caramel, plums and bitterness. Aftertaste was hoppy, sweet and bitter. A tasty barley wine with hoppiness.

Draught @ HBF 2017. Pours dark reddish brown with a smooth foamy head. Aroma of hops, caramely malts, toffee, syrup, pine, resin and citrus. Taste is hoppy, crisp and earthy with some hints of roastiness, rye, caramely maltiness, toffee, syrup, pine and toffee. Finish is sweetish, hoppy and bitter with some rye, roastiness, caramel, pine, resin, toffee and syrup. Nicely hopped barley wine.
