Super hazy and muddied brown coloured body with a nice, two centimetre tall tan head and a creamy glow on top. Aroma of toasted malt, caramel, earth, light fruits and a bit of steeped coffee with the malt by far the strongest. Light to Medium-bodied; Strong earthy malt flavours with some light toffee and oak noticeable showing a good deal of steeped coffee grounds and subdued honey flavours near the end, but without any other strong influences at all. Aftertaste is mellow with the malt and caramel the strongest, but also showing some of the coffee and the smallest hints of a chocolate sweetness from milk chocolate. Overall, a respectable brown with literally no off flavours or pungency, but not enough complexity (yes, even for this style) or depth that make it amazing. That said, a good beer for the style and one worth trying if you like this or find yourself in Hungary. This one however, is probably not worth lugging in your suitcase across the pond, like I did. I’m happy I did, but wish I saved the space for another Hungarian beer that might have had more complexities and unique qualities. I sampled this 330 mL longtop bottle purchased from Beer Odalom in Budapest, Hungary on 24-March-2016 for HUF790 sampled at home in Washington on 06-January-2017.

Winter Affair 2025:
Golden-yellow hazy body, off-whtie head. Huge NZ herbal and fruity aroma. Lean, soft taste, citric hoppiness and some light stone fruit. Much better balanced nowadays - a very good "basic" hazy!

November 1st 2016:
Bottle. Enormous thanks to Karlo for sharing! Yellow-amber hazy body with a small white head. it h a small head. OK aroma, honey, citric, lightly tart for a second, not bad. Citric lemony hoppy taste, almost detergent-like, ending dry and bitter. Eh, OK, interesting try but didn’t suit me that much. 6/6/6/6/6

Kicsi, nem túl tartós hab, sötétbarna szín. Illata kávés, aszalt gyümölcsös. Kávés, pörkölt malátás ízek, kakaós beütéssel, némi kakaóporossággal. Testes, közepesen szénsavas és keserű. Tisztességesen összerakott, valahogy mégsem jön be.

Taste is medium sweet malt, peachy and tropical fruity, moderate aroma, medium bitterness, slightly sourish note, dry finish. Medium bodied, soft carbonation, bit oily. Pretty good. Super hazy bright blonde and golden coloured body with a large six centimetre tall off-white head that fades pretty quickly. Aroma of bright bitter coffee, some noticeable resinous and piney hop notes and a little earthiness from the malt and high alpha acid hops. Medium-bodied; Assertive coffee flavour up front that shows some nice earthiness and a little brewed coffee flavour, but then the hops come through and show very nicely near the end with a big bitterness and a rich balance of bittered malt and coffee flavours and the pungency of the hops with a touch of alcohol noticeable. Aftertaste is rich, well-balanced and both hoppy and bittered from the earthiness of the coffee. Overall, an impressive coffee-based IPA that shows some brewed coffee flavours, but not overtly so and without the additional pungencies of most coffee beers - this one lays a nice line down of coffee without being overblown. I sampled this 33 cL bottle purchased from Beer Odalom in Budapest, Hungary on 24-March-2016 for HUF770 sampled at home on the other side of the Atlantic, in Washington on 13-September-2016. And if I could, I’d do it all over again, and bring this same bottle back in my suitcase, it was easily worth the space and the effort to bring it back.

Thanks...I think someone among Domagoj V.’s crowd I guess. Misty golden body. Herbal grassy aroma, herbal/grassy sweetish taste. Light, but overall a nice little beer, despite a lack of descriptors.

Huge thanks Andrej! From tap. Misty golden body. Yup, peach and a lot of it on a grassy base, light orange and herbal notes in the aroma too. Sweetish peach notes mixing with a citrusy touch and some grassiness. First time I’ve tried it the grassiness came out more than the second time, where the fruit, peach with a tropical touch, got stronger. Mild bitterness, OK malty backbone. Another very interesting beer from this brewer that I’ll keep my eye on from now on!
