Cask at The Fountain, Walsall. Poured a clear golden brown with a big white frothy head. The aroma is weak malt. The flavour is medium bitter malty with a rather smooth palate. Given its alcohol content itโs a perfect session beer.

Poured a dark mahogany with a reddish hue and a big frothy tan head. The aroma is rich and fruity leading to a rich, weak bitter, fruity, slightly spicy flavour with hints of cranberries on the palate. Maybe Iโm just thinking too much about Christmas! Itโs quite a strong ale at 6.8% but the alcohol does not influence the flavour. This is the kind of Christmas ale we all want and expect!

Cask at the Fountain Inn, Walsall. Poured a dark mahogany with a thick tan head. The aroma is surprisingly weak with just a hint of maltiness. The flavour is medium bitter and of liqourice and malt. A decent stout, but lacks body and there are better examples out there.

Cask at the Fountain Inn, Walsall. Poured a crystal clear medium straw colour. The aroma is of citrus and pine as advertised. The flavour is weak bitter which does linger on the palate for a while. Carbonation is low. Itโs a drinkable session blonde, but the flavour is weak and needs more body IMO.

The bitterness is exquisite and really contributes to the richness and flavour of the ale. A very drinkable session beer.

The hoppy bitterness sits nicely on the palate. This is a great smooth session bitter rather than a Christmas ale. Iโd order a second pint so it must be good!

Cask at the Birmingham Beer Festival 2012. Clear amber pour with a thin white broken head. Fruity aroma leading into a smooth bitter flavour with a hint of citrus which was not what I expected at at all. The hops work really well with this beer to produce a very refreshing ale.

GBBF. Light haze on this pale gold beer, little white head. A little lemon and marmalade citrus. Fairly dry finish. Decent enough!

Cask at the Theatre Bar, Birmingham. Dark ruby red pour with a big frothy head. Not so much in the aroma but the flavour makes up for that. The malty flavour really dominates this beer and there is little else, but the flavour is so good that I have few complaints. You could almost chew this beer! There is a hint of bitterness on the palate, but who cares!
