22oz bottle at the April Fools Day DC Ratebeer tasting. Poured a smooth, pitch black color with a small tan head. Aroma was rich chocolate, roasted malts. Bourbon barrel, wood, and some vanilla. Mouthfeel was smooth. Flavor had a really solid, roasted, smooth malt character with vanilla and Bourboun. Alcohol is really well masked. Really nice.

I normally don’t pick up these heft priced bombers, but for some reason I nabbed this one. $15.99 bomber from Rio Hill Wine. Pours thick dark brown with a small brown head. Aroma of heavy vanilla, chocolate, wet dog, coffee, cocoa. Flavor is sweet vanilla, earth, chocolate both milk and dark, cocoa, coffee. Boozy, without a doubt. This is fresh off the fridge door, so I will be sure to let it linger a bit and see if new flavor emerge.
