Musket Brewery and taproom ‘The Armoury’ presents quality real ales brewed in the traditional manner, with carefully selected blends of malts, hops, and barley, captivating the best the Garden of England has to offer.

Trying to find a way to spend more time together and realising they had a mutual passion for beer, father and son duo Tony & Rhys Williams, started brewing in an old mushroom shed on the back lots of Loddington Farm in Kent in 2013. What set out as an activity for the father and son to bond over soon developed in to something more. The recipes they brewed in that old mushroom shed were just too good to keep to themselves and they wanted to share their passion and the chance for other people to be able bond over their fine beers.

Closed October 2025. Purchased January 2026 by Grainstore Brewery, with the brewing equipment relocated to Oakham.

Cask (gravity) @ EBF18 2014, 18th Egham Beer Festival, Egham United Services Club (EUSC), 111 Spring Rise, Egham, Surrey, England TW20 9PE. [ As Musket Trigger ].Clear medium orange color with a small, fizzy, fair lacing, mostly diminishing, off-white head. Aroma is moderate malty, pale malt, moderate hoppy, citrus, peach, grass notes. Flavor is moderate sweet and bitter with a long duration, fruity, citrus, peach, pale malt, light grass. Body is medium, texture is oily to watery, carbonation is flat. [20140807]

Cask. Pours dark amber with a white head. Malty, dark fruits in the aroma, hints of chocolate. Taste is dark fruit hints, a bit creamy, caramel, biscuit. Good.

3.6% Cask gravity at Planet Thanet BF 2015. Clear gold. Lasting white head. Ok golden ale. Some hop and mineral on aroma. Bit too minerally. Ok.

[ As Musket Muzzleloader ].Clear medium amber color with a average, frothy - fizzy, good lacing, mostly lasting to diminishing, off-white head. Aroma is moderate malty, caramel, light roasted, nutty notes, light wood - berry, and something ? Flavor is moderate sweet and light to moderate bitter with a average to long duration, borring, caramel, something ? I do not get muck anyway ! Body is medium, texture is oily to watery, carbonation is soft to flat. [20140810]

Gravity dispense at EBF ’18, 10/08/14. Rich amber with a moderate light beige covering that collapses to a swirl. Nose is malt driven, candied sugar, nutty aroma, mrllow fruit, light toffee. Taste comprises dark fruit, vanilla, light smoke, toffee. Medium bodied, moderate carbonation, semi drying close with light bitternings. So so.

Gravity dispense at EBF ’18, 07/08/14. Clear golden with a moderate off white covering/swirl. Nose is citric peel, bread dough, light hop notes, orange pith, light floral notes. Taste comprises citric peel, orange pith, spice, grassy notes, light bread dough. Medium bodied, fine carbonation, smei drying close. Ok citric lead GB.

Cask @ Egham Beer Festival. Clear amber color, small off-white head. Smell malts, smoke, slightly herbs or spices. Tastes about the same: malts, smoke, a hint of herbs and spices, lightly malt-bitterness. Medium body and carbonation.

From cask. Pours hazy orange with a small off white head. Aroma is mild smoked and light toasted malty. Bitter, toasted and light breadish malty. Dry and toasted, light smoked finish.
