Description
Created in Birmingham in 2016 by cousins Josh and Calum, GlassHouse Beer Co. has grown in leaps and bounds on the back of its innovative vegan beers.

Graduating from Josh’s mum’s greenhouse in 2018 (where the brewery gets its name), GlassHouse had a rocky period over the pandemic but managed to push through by producing a great range of cans.

GlassHouse beer isn’t fined or filtered, and while it has been known to produce a milk stout or two, its beers are typically vegan. While they’re available nationally, the team’s glare is firmly fixed on improving and supporting the Birmingham beer scene.

Keg at the Two-Tailed Lion, Leicester. Pinkish orange, hazy with a slight white head. Tart raspberry in the aroma with some pink grapefruit and kumquat. Very tart taste with a drying finish from the wheat. Light to medium carbonation lifts the slight body. Gorgeous.

Keg at Trekkers, Chesham, Bucks. A hazy orange coloured pour with a thin off white head on top. Hoppy, orange, mango, peach, tropical fruit aroma, tastes quite sweet but also very moreish and a little boozy. Enjoyable IPA from Glasshouse.

Tap at Hoplocker 1, Southbank. Light-medium fruity aroma. Hazy light gold. Foamy white head. Light-medium bitter. Some spice. Underlying sweet stone fruit. Medium bodied. Creamy and pithy. Flat carbonation. Long slightly astringent finish. Decent what is surely a NEIPA.

Near-black beer, thin brown head soon fizzles out. Smells sweet, a little tangy front and it's sharp up front as well, almost sour though it soon mellows into toasty malt and dark chocolate with a little caramel. Interesting mix, solid and smooth.

Keg @ Tap & Can. Hazy pinky peachy pinky complexion, foamy white head. Smooth, sweet and impeccably balanced with the yeast.. Not too sharp or zingy whilst retaining all the luscious full bodied rasp flavour. Very good.
