Keg at the Chelmsford Craft Beer Festival. Almost clear gold beer, tidy pale cream head. Palate is light and semi dry, good fine minerally carbonation. Light and somewhat grainy pale malts. Light pine, smooth. Ripe citrus, mildly pithy. A light and semi dry finish, quite crispy, serviceable.

Keg at The Gangway, Sheringham. Very pale clear gold; clear fizz. Light grass and hay up front, some sweetcorn comes through, and there's a wisp of lemon and pepper late on. It's all very lightweight, but it's pretty easy drinking and inoffensive. They've managed to recreate the American lager style without it being totally crap, so kudos to them for that. I'm never going to love this style, but this is certainly better than most of its brethren.

Hand-pulled half-pint in the Old Bank House, Tamworth on 13th April 2024. Guess what, it was golden and had Citra hops in it.

Half-pint, cask ale, shared with Finn at Free Trade Inn. Almost black in the glass, solid lacing from a declining beige head. Roasted malty aromas, earthy, promising. Dark malt-forward taste with bread, biscuit, soot, and caramel sweetness, lactose backbone. Roasted, soot, ending. Fine depth to it. Nice. (Byker - Newcastle upon Tyne, 20.03.2024).
