FHF 2024. Appearance: a bit hazy pale golden with a white head. Aroma: rustic notes, crispy. Taste: along the same lines, a bit too tart maybe. Overall: not bad.

On tap at Steamworks Mt Pleasant, pours a cloudy yellowish blonde with a small white head. Aroma has a touch of citrus and a hint of vinous tanginess. Flavour has a champagne-like effervescence, some white wine grape skins, and a hint of citrus. Higher carb, with a nice champagne-like effervescence. Solid enough.

Slight haze, medium head. Thin head. Yeasty aroma, slightly vinous, light body, mild tartness, yeasty. There’s a touch of grape but it’s overall restrained and the yeast profile isn’t right…Field House has a better piquette and Dageraad can easily make a better piquette, so not sure what happened here.

473mL can, pours a clear golden with a small white head. Aroma has some diacetyl in there, with grassy hop bitterness and toasted crackery malt. Flavour has some bitterness, with grassy hop bitterness, a little pine, and crisp crackery malt. That diacetyl tinge ruins everything for me though. Ugh.

Pale amber, bright. No head. Light, moderate bitterness, biscuity pale malt. Light tangerine. Good balance.

Bright amber, thin head. Moderate bitterness. Little oniony, some buscuity malt but overall this could do with a bit more hop brightness.

Bright amber, not much head. Spicy hop nose. Fairly sweet on the palate, not nearly as much hop brightness as I’d probably like. And less hop expression than the aroma promised.

On tap at Alibi Room. Pours cloudy yellow with white head. Aroma has sour white grapes and floral notes. Flavour is similar with light malt as well. Mouthfeel is rather slick. White wine grape flavour is good, but not super exciting.

473mL can, pours a clear copper golden with a medium white head. Aroma has some pine, sweat socks, some earthiness, and grassy hops. Flavour is unfortunately much the same, with lots of sweat socks, gentle spiciness, a hint of pine, earthiness, and bready malt. That's not a well-calibrated hop profile — too sweaty and tired despite being fresh. Something didn't work out too well here.
