A very nice, dry, bitter imperial, unlike a lot of american-made renditions - quite smooth and balanced, with a creamy mouthfeel - starts off with moderate sweetness, with flavors of chocolate and anise - dries out through the middle, with a lot of roast and dark malt bitterness arriving and sticking through the finish - a lot of espresso character in the finish - a hint of tartness, even - complex and tasty, with well-masked alcohol.
