Description
Built on the site of the old Gaythorn Gas Works,The Gas Works Brew Bar is a new concept from the team behind The Dockyard pubs. With an industrial heritage, we’ve brought a rustic feel with a modern twist.

Located in the recent development of First Street in Manchester, we’re taking our love and passion for all things beer to the next level.

Our crown jewel is the in house brewery. Sitting on full display for all to see will be crafting an ever increasing range of our own beers to be served direct from tank to tap.

Cask @ Gas Works Brew Bar, Manchester. Blonde with a creamy head. Looks and tastes weaker than its strength would suggest, has a hint of citrus but a watery hoppiness dominates.

Keg @ Gas Works Brew Bar, Manchester. Golden with a head and a glow. A hoppy example in this series, crisp enough from keg but also with a slight dryness and a somewhat metallic nose.

Keg @ Gas Works Brew Bar, Manchester. Very dark red with a small head. It's over carbonated with its dark malts, and not a very stated Black IPA, which was the style it was chalked up as on the board above the service area, however the style is apparent.

Cask @ Gas Works Brewbar, Manchester. Hazy copper with a creamy head. It has a mild dry graininess within its bitter character, which has a mid bitterness.

Keg @ Gas Works Brew Bar, Manchester. Golden, clear with a thin head. Has a dirty-sweet low weiss character, with a greater sweetness to the brew in its nose. Had this again in November 2022, this time chalked up as 5% Bitter Orange IPA so maybe a new beer. This time it certainly has a pithy orange peel bitterness. Drank @ Dockyard, Manchester.

25/3/2019. Cask, sample, from Darlington Beer Festival @ Voodoo Cafe, courtesy of Danlo, cheers! Pours clear dark gold with a small bubbly off-white head. Aroma of malt, citrus, hops, biscuit and light tropical fruits. Moderate sweetness, medium plus bitterness. Moderate body, slight oily texture, soft carbonation. Nice bitterness to finish.
