Cask @ The Boot. Unclear gold appearance, small white foam atop. Floral fruity nose. Mild fruity character, light floral grapefruit notes. Expected something a little more wild and out there with a colourful pump clip like this, but alas a seshy cask pale it is, nice enough though.

Cask, third pint, @Alexandra Hotel, Derby (UK). 17/02/2023. [#5.904 Global - #676 England - #1 Bang the Elephant Brewing (My English brewery #228)] Pours almost black with a thin tan head. Aroma: coffee beans, roasted malts and licorice. Taste: lot of licorice and coffee beans. Very nice coffee forward porter. Drinkable and balanced. Next one please!

Cask at the Bear, Paddington on 25th February 2023. Thickly hazy amber with shallow off-white foam. Richly fruity aroma with candied peel and tropical fruits. Citrus and tropical fruits in-mouth, with a finish of the same blend. Medium bodied with a smooth yet engaging texture.

Cask at Ebenezers, Crewe. Pours a hazy dark copper with s large off-white head and good lacing. There’s cherries and malts in the aroma, and these continue into the mouth where it has a chewy texture. Though the mainstay there is autumn fruits with traces of ginger and fruity hops. Finish is dry and fruity. This is decent punches well above it’s ABV. Certainly different from (and better than) what I expected.

Cask at Smithfield, Derby. Pours a rich ruby red with a small cream head. The aroma is smoky with some vague fruity hints. In the mouth it has a chewy texture with continental hops mixing with smoky malts, dark fruits and treacle. Finish has yet more malts. It’s OK – but a bit strange.
