Hotly tipped East London trio Deviant & Dandy are bringing fresh noise to the London brewing scene from their Hackney ex-garage with an exciting mashup of expert brewing and a fearless disregard for taking risks. Head brewer Darren Walker delivers master crafted recipes and has the kind of intense passion for making fantastic beer that you just can’t teach – a bona fide rockstar of the craft community.

Keg at LBA Fest 23. Aroma had spice and dank gooseberries. Hazy gold. Thin white head sticks to the rim. Sour gooseberries offset by spice. Light-medium bodied. Slick. Long dry somewhat astringent finish.

Keg at Brewdog Lothian Road. Pours hazy golden amber with a thin white head. Aromas of light banana and dried herbs. Taste has faint dough, banana, light spice. Clean finish.

Go Rangers! Hazy, muddy color and a white head. Nose of overripe tropical fruits, funky. Taste starts bitter fruity, grapefruit, hoppy. Good.

Gravity cask at Pigs Ear 2022 - day 1. Pours black-brown with a creamy, beige head. Light to medium sweet flavour with notes of dark fruits, salt, prunes, cocoa, booze. Medium to full bodied, lightly oily, with fine carbonation. Lightly warming finish, rich dark malts. Not bad.
