Draft at Willimantic. Clear bright golden yellow color, thick white head. Aroma of citrus and straw. Taste is lemony bread dough. Nice.

Another disappointment from Back East. Thinner than most Imperial Stouts out there. Coffee and dark chocolate in the aroma and flavor, but a really heavy booze burn in the nose and tongue. Nothing very interesting or well crafted here.

On draft, smells of soap, caramel malts?, cough syrup. Taste is the same, I cant get over the medicinal flavor, really unappetizing.

On draft, poured a clear amber/gold into the pint glass. White head that dissipated rather quickly. Bready malty aroma, I knew this was going to be way too sweet when I smelled it, and it was. Some resin hops in the finish. Unbalanced poor offering.

Had my hopes up for this one, brewery is right down the road. English style IPA that doesn’t deliver on the promise of being a heavily hopped beer. This is a miss.

750 ml bottle from Worldwide Wine Cellars, Tolland, CT. Snifter shows a nice tan head with massive retention, laced the entire way down. Nose is earthy malts and English type hops. The flavor reminds me of a huge ABV English stout. Charred chocolate malt, hints of coffee grounds with an ashy texture. Again I get and earthy malt taste the yells out to me, "drink me on cask" huge amounts of ash that lingers after the sip. NERAX would love to serve this during one of their exhibitions. Not bad by any means but it is real thin in body. Could use more depth in flavor.

Thanks chris for sharing this one. shared 2 ways in a snifter.

A - Black, brown edges

S - Smells bitter and full of woodiness, sort of an undertone figs.

T - Creamy, bitter, a strange orange and clove with coriander.roasted marshmallows, almonds and coffee.

M - Thin light creamy texture. sort of a porter mouthfeel

O - Very english, slightly creamy, had a very clean finish. this is a solid beer..would be great by the pint on cask. seriously.

Draft / guest tap @ Willimantic Brewpub. Nose is light caramel candy and weak notes of chocolate. No surprises with the flavor it is exactly as it smells. Melted caramel candy with a chocolate finish. I understand I’m drinking a porter and not a stout but... The body is ridiculously thin and watery. This would be much improved with some more fullness. The flavor itself is respectable yet not memorable.

12oz can someone left at my house. Pours a hazy, orange with some thin, white head. Nose is unspectacular, pithy, light pine, slightly metallic, a little soggy bread, orange, slightly vegetal. Flavor is similar, citrus pith, artificial pine, malt, a little candy, grass. Very bitter finish. A little heavy handed.
