Bottle. It’s a hazy chestnut colored beer with a finger-thick beige head leaving some curtains. The aroma is on the malty side with bread, nuts and toffee and some cellar notes. A whiff of grass is all there is of hoppy scents. It’s medium bodied and nicely carbonated, although perhaps a bit much of it. The flavor is a bit more fruity, but still much dominated by the bready, toffee-ish malts, with some dried fruits and nuts in the back. Rather dry, and nicely balanced by the hops. 35 IBU according to the label, shouldn’t believe that, except for maybe in the finish where the bitterness is evident. There’s also a light metallic touch in the finish, else it’s sure a fine Altbier. 160703

Bottle, courtesy of KnutAlbert. An unclear brown beer with an orange tint and a dense, light beige head. The aroma is coffee-ish roasted with dried fruits and a faint yeasty touch. It’s full-bodied and smooth on the palate, semi-dry and medium to full-bodied. Quite bitter, especially in the very end. Almost harsh. The initial flavor is as roasted and coffee-ish as the aroma, with less room for dried fruits and other goodness. Some toffee squeezes in, but not enough to prevent this beer from feeling one dimensional and uninteresting. 160630

Flaske fra Gulating Vestkanten, høs Børge: klar, lys gylden med ok skum. Citrusaroma med tropiske frukter. Smaken er kjempefrisk og riktig god, dette er en super pøse-ipa. Mandarin, citron, tropiske frukter i en slank og velbalansert kropp. Mild bitterhet i ettersmaken. En fornøyelse fra første til siste dråpe. Flaske fra Rema 1000 Harstad okt-18: gusher med uklar kobberfarge og fint skum som varer. Grapefrukt, citrongress, furunål og gress i aroma og smak. Bitterhed på grensen til det beske, og overkarboneringen gjør ikke helhetsinntrykket bedre. Ned fra opprinnelige 3,3. En skuffelse, og uten mersmak.
