Up Front Brewing
Client Brewer in Strathaven, South Lanarkshire, Scotland 🏴
Established in 2015
Here at Up Front we have no loans, no investors, and no kickstarter funding - everything is paid for up front. We brew by renting space in other people’s breweries, with each batch paid for as it’s brewed.
We have very little in the way of overheads, which allows us to spend a considerable amount of time and effort into researching and experimenting with new yeast, bacteria, ingredients, and brewing techniques from around the world. We brew mostly out of 71 Brewing in Dundee, but also use other breweries as and when required.
Up Front has used both Drygate and Alechemy as a base.

Keg at Shilling. It pours hazy orangey golden with a medium fizzy white head. The aroma is fresh, clean, crisp, zingy citrus fruits, grapefruit, lemon sherbet, saltiness and lemonade. The taste is crisp, dry, a touch lactic, lightly sour, zingy, nice lemon sherbet character, yuzu, lightly salty, cracker, hay, straw and grass with a dry, tart finish. Medium body and moderate, lively carbonation. Tart, sherbety and quenching. Works well.

Hazy golden beer. Smell is actually less sour than you'd think but the taste is quite tart. Sour citrus, some hop. It's a fairly straightforward sour but lovely for it.
