Description
Up Front Brewing was founded in 2015 with the aim of sharing our love of exceptional beers and great artwork, with a wider audience.
Here at Up Front we have no loans, no investors, and no kickstarter funding - everything is paid for up front. We brew by renting space in other people’s breweries, with each batch paid for as it’s brewed.
We have very little in the way of overheads, which allows us to spend a considerable amount of time and effort into researching and experimenting with new yeast, bacteria, ingredients, and brewing techniques from around the world. We brew mostly out of 71 Brewing in Dundee, but also use other breweries as and when required.
Up Front has used both Drygate and Alechemy as a base.

440ml can from Wee Beer Shop at Pollokshaw Road - Deep amber body, shortish white top. Big caramel nose, loads of sweet toffee, marzipan, juicy tart stone fruits with bags of maltiness. Very slightly savoury touch at the back from the salt. Cracking beer that belies its ABV.

440ml can. Slightly cloudy, dark ruby colour with average, frothy, slowly osteoporosing, moderately lacing, dark sulphureous head. Sweet-ish, caramel malty, minimally fruity and fungous-woody aroma, hints of old marzipan, date, fig, a touch of blue grapes, cherry. Taste is sweet-ish, caramel malty, bitter hoppy and slightly fruity, minimally woody, hints of date, fig, plum, dried fruit, a touch of cherry; well hidden alcohol.
Dissolved sugar enriched, watery texture, smooth and soft, minimally cloying, simultaneously minimally dry palate, fine, mildly prickly carbonation.
Well balanced, fairly fruity - pretty nice.
