Up Front Brewing
Client Brewer in Strathaven, South Lanarkshire, Scotland 🏴
Established in 2015
Here at Up Front we have no loans, no investors, and no kickstarter funding - everything is paid for up front. We brew by renting space in other people’s breweries, with each batch paid for as it’s brewed.
We have very little in the way of overheads, which allows us to spend a considerable amount of time and effort into researching and experimenting with new yeast, bacteria, ingredients, and brewing techniques from around the world. We brew mostly out of 71 Brewing in Dundee, but also use other breweries as and when required.
Up Front has used both Drygate and Alechemy as a base.

Can shared by my bro. It pours clear orangey - brown with a small, bubbly off- white head. The aroma is toasty brown bread, woody, earth, dried fruits, raisin, sultana, dried fig, date, fruit loaf, salted caramel is fairly muted and some caramac. The taste is initially smooth, warming booze, woody, leather, light tannin, coffee beans, mellow salted caramel, toasted nut, slightly charred, umami and tannin with a drying, kinda burnt finish. Medium body and moderate carbonation. Nice aroma. Tastes has a burnt finish which detracts from what is a decent beer overall.

Can. Just a light haze on this gold beer, decent bubbly pale cream colour head. Airy palate, mildly dry, good fine minerally carbonation. Light malts bring a modest sweetness that works well in this almost West Coast affair. Hops bring light cooling pine. I bought this for the Lemondrop hops and, I am very glad I did. Bright candyish lemon, touches of lemonade and lemon oil and a little floral lemon. It's the dominant hop here. Some modest modern Mosaic candy fruits on the back end. A Lemondrop delight!

Can. Murky brown, nice cm+ of off white head never disappears. Aroma of bread, toffee, sourish red and dried fruit, oak. Just medium bodied, creamy. Dry despite toffee, some hints of sourness. Lots of fruit but fresh rather than dried dates. Spicy finish with a little cleansing acidity. Really good, might well go as long as the "cellar release" bb of 2033.

440ml can from Wood Winters Inverness - cloudy pale yellow with a very fizzy top. Sharp tangy unripe tropical fruit, savoury salt kick, cheek puckering finish. Funky trippy can as well.
