NorthDown brew award winning beers with a focus on hop forward modern ales, producing a variety of beers spanning cask perfect best bitters, modern hazy pale ales and flavour forward IPAs.
Founded in 2018 by Husband & Wife duo Jonny & Katie Spanjar who were drawn to Margate for its coastal vibes, embracing community and bountiful history. Their hard work truly paid off with recent industry gongs for their two most loved beers - The ‘Taste of Kent Awards’ taking home Best Kent Beer 2020 for ‘Pale Ale Mary’ Pale Ale and winning praise from the cask ale aficionados CAMRA with a medal for ‘Merry Margate’ Golden Session Ale in the Kent CAMRA festival 2019.

ABV: 4.0%. Clear medium amber colour with a small to average, frothy - fizzy, good lacing, mostly lasting to diminishing, off-white head. Aroma is moderate malty, caramel, pale malt, fruity malt, apricot, citrus. Flavor is moderate sweet and light bitter with a average duration, pale malt, sweet malt, fruity, apricot - citrus, floral notes. Body is medium, texture is oily to watery, carbonation is soft to flat. [20180802]
